Details: Safe Haven Health Care, LLC. is looking for the right candidate to work as the Director of Nursing services for our 14 bed psychiatric hospital located in Pocatello, Idaho.  Candidates for this position must hold a masters degree in psychiatric nursing or have the equivalent in experience.  Relocation expenses will be considered.Some of the DNS responsibilities include:-Directly interacts with the patients in therapeutic communication and assessment-Coordinates the care of the patient(s) with other professionals on the treatment team-Provides progress reports to the physicians and other professionals on the treatment team-Direct the flow of unit therapeutic activities-Creates the monthly staffing schedule for RN's and Psych Tech's-familiarity with the duties of the RN supervisors and be able to step in and assist  as needed with those duties.- May be required to work periodically as the RN supervisor to ensure the needs of the unit are met-Review and update the unit policies and procedures and ensure that staff are appropriately inserviced on those policies that directly effect them in their duties-Stay abreast of current nursing research which is pertinent to the services provided on the unit-Proactively participates as a leader of the unit CQI process-Provide pertinent ongoing education to the staff on the unit-Provide counseling and/or discipline to staff on the unit as needed-Act as unit compliance officer ensuring that deficiencies identified through audits are corrected in a timely manner-Maintain and provide quarterly reports on occurrence logs, infection control issues, medication errors, etc.DNS candidates should possess the ability to work well with others,; to be able to give direction and to set an example for the unit team to follow; have a desire to improve the the quality of life for those patients on the unit as well as encouraging the staff through example to work together as a team in the overall cares of the patients and to maintain/improve the goals of the company.
